Read moreI went here to visit this special place in Roma. The mausoleum is of circular plan with an ambulatory surrounding a central dome and survives in essentially its original form. I attach some photo and an extensive text (not my copyright) – both in english and in italian – to help a better understanding of the site.
According to tradition, the spectacle was created by Michelangelo Buonarroti for the celebrations of Saints Peter and Paul, founders of the Church and patrons of the city of Rome.
